M & J Roofing and Home Improvements began doing business in the Mahoning Valley over 40 years ago. The company was founded in 1977 by Mike Diaz, on the values of honesty, integrity, and quality craftsmanship. Mike dedicated himself over the next 20 years, to ensuring that every customer who chose to contract M & J Roofing, experienced those values first hand. Today, the company has been passed on to Mike’s sons, Kevin and Andy Diaz, who continue to carry on the proud tradition and business model that was championed by their father.

Mike Diaz
“I started my career in roofing over 40 years ago. In 1977, I was working at Youngstown’s Sheet & Tube steel mill, when we were notified that they were closing the plant immediately. Searching for employment, I helped a friend do two roofs and decide to start my own company. Over the next 20 years, I did my best to build a foundation on honesty, integrity, and quality craftsmanship. Today, along with my two sons, we continue to build on these principles, serving our customers with the same values that I started with all those years ago. I am an Army Veteran and proudly served our country in the Vietnam War. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my wife of over 40 years, our two sons and daughter in-laws, and five grandchildren.”
Kevin Diaz
“I grew up working for the family business as a teenager. After my dad‘s motorcycle accident in 2000, I started to run the business at the age of 21. After a couple of years, and seeing growth in the business, my brother decided to leave his job in Cleveland and come back to work with my dad and I. Since then, the business has continued to grow and we continue to keep our reputation as a well-respected and upstanding family business.”
Andy Diaz
“I worked in the family business at a young age, learning our core values of honesty, a hard work ethic, spirit of excellence, and doing all we can with integrity. I continued working during my summers in high school, and throughout my college career at Youngstown State University, where I received my Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. After college, I worked as a Project Manager/ Estimator for a construction company in Cleveland, which specialized in Commercial and Industrial projects. I returned to our family business in 2012, where I currently work alongside my brother Kevin, running the day to day operations.”
